LONG ISLAND (NY): The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) Chairman Mohsin Naqvi has taken up the pitches condition at Nassau Stadium and lack of proper arrangement issues with ICC officials just ahead of the start of the Pakistan-India match on Sunday.

Well-informed sources told The News that Naqvi, who was also accompanied by PCB COO Salman Naseer, expressed his displeasure on the arrangements, terming these as the one that could prove counterproductive for efforts to promote the game of cricket in the US.

“The PCB chairman during talks with the ICC officials expressed his displeasure and feared that a negative publicity would never fetch positive results for the US cricket," a source said.

Mohsin Naqvi told ICC high ups that pitches especially at the Nassau Stadium could no way help in popularising the game of cricket in the US. In fact such pitches where scoring runs and hitting sixes become impossible, would prove counter-productive.”

The PCB officials were also unhappy over the overall arrangements including the high cost of tickets and lack of proper facilities for spectators. There were also complains from spectators regarding lack of facilities at the Stadium. The worst part is that there no restrooms (washrooms) for media at the 4th floor where the media box is situated. Media persons have to come down to the ground to use public toilets.
